For as long as I’ve been alive, elections have come down to ONE issue, as Democrat strategist James Carville once so “eloquently” put it: “It’s the economy, stupid!” This may finally be the election that rejects that notion.
I believe that our country has finally reached the point where COMMON SENSE will outweigh DOLLARS AND CENTS at the ballot box.
This is why we’re seeing so many Democrats say what they REALLY believe on one day and then go and try to retcon it on the next. They’re also trying to distance themselves from people who helped them win their primaries, like Hasan Piker, because they know those associations will not help Democrats in the general election.
Even better news for Connecticut Republicans is that they can point to things that affect our state’s economy that CANNOT be tied to President Trump’s tariffs or the war with Iran.
Who appointed the woman to lead PURA, which sets the electric rates, and then re-appointed her despite YUGE public outcry? DEMOCRAT Governor Ned Lamont and the DEMOCRAT-controlled legislature.
Who gave former Education Secretary Miguel Cardona a $250,000 NO-BID contract to chair the questionable Connecticut Career Pathway Commission? DEMOCRAT Governor Ned Lamont.
Where did property taxes show the largest increases? Mainly in towns controlled by DEMOCRATS.
Who allowed Kosta Diamantis to slip out the back door and escape justice for the crimes of corruption he committed? DEMOCRAT Attorney General William Tong.
Who called a press conference to say that she has done NOTHING to find out if our state is being investigated for voter fraud? DEMOCRAT Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas.
Who passed a bill that makes it easier for illegal immigrants to murder children like Liam Rivera? DEMOCRATS.
Who refuses to protect our girl athletes from biological male competitors in their sports? DEMOCRATS.
Are you starting to see a PATTERN here? I sincerely hope so.
Connecticut Republicans are proving to be the sensible choice for BOTH dollars and cents AND common sense. If our candidates can successfully point out how Connecticut Democrats have no command of either sense, we should have no trouble winning in November.
But if Republicans lose again, then you have got to wonder, “Where else do Nutmeggers need to be struck before they will stop voting FOR Democrats and AGAINST our state’s future?”
